Yes, hydrogen is certainly no the "dirty" clean fuel it used to be when only reformation of methane was used to produce it. Today, there are many H2 production facilities based on renewables (e.g. Hydrogenics HYGS).

It just appears that this nano-tech and non-noble metal approach could lower the cost and increase the efficiency of producing H2, to the point that it can give LiON batteries a decent run for their money. Mr. Musk may have to eat his words. wink
