They actually can just scrap it and walk away from it after touting it for a year AND that's exactly what they did AND it's not illegal. There are legal-ish ways to do just about anything in this country, a country run by corporations and lawyers. For instance, they can say that the regulatory landscape surrounding CBD, originally misread by management, prohibited them from pursuing it further. They could say that economic hardship from the Martha Stewart debacle prevented them from pursuing it further. And even if it is illegal, they have already figured out a way to make it legal enough, I can promise you that. I eagerly await the next filing that lays it out explicitly in elegant legalese so that I may savor the savvy debauchery of it all. Gawd bless America.
