Hey Shopgirl, Welcome....

When daytrading, I use the 5/10/20 on a 1 day 5 min chart. But the stock needs to have good volume and a bid/ask that is constantly moving. Otherwise you get a flat chart which is very hard to interpret. Hope that helps.
