There is hope. The best one is to remove the federal government from the school system and privatize all schools. Idiots such as those who implemented this zero tolerance nonsense would be quickly weeded out and looking for new jobs. As it stands now, there is little accountability in public schools. With local control over schools and no NEA to protect inept teachers, the students would have a much better chance to actually learn.
