Compare the recent SPORT video of a partial nephrectomy for tumor removal to this as performed with daVinci:

Titan better have A LOT they are not showing us.

I guess what has been eating at me for the 2+ years I've been invested (and I've brought it up many times) is how they will be different from ISRG, IN THE SURGICAL FIELD OF THE PROCEDURE ITSELF. I'm not talking cost, mobility of the cart, etc.. I'm talking about those ole' snakearms. They don't look like they can do too much, without a lot of ancillary third-party equipment coming through extra ports, just like everyone else doing MIS. What's required in swapping them out for a different effector? Is there a clip applier being planned? Can you actually suture as well as with daVinci?

If SPORT doesn't revolutionize the state-of-the-art at the procedural level, then they may just be a lower-cost alternative to daVinci, that requires different training. Nothing more and possibly even something less in terms of overall procedure capability that the surgeon can exploit with daVinci. Someone recently pointed out that ISRG can and will modify their pricing to compete with SPORT. I agree.

I can only hope they are purposely not showing ANY of their cards to anyone at this time, because if Hargrove thinks he's going to revolutionize surgery with what we've seen so far, he should be back at JnJ perfecting the Q-tip.

Let's face it, there was nothing shown in that video except two relatively clunky arms.
