When good news develops there will be two reasons why,

If the stock establishes a new base 50% higher than where it is trading, you'll want that short-term pps to be as high as possible.

If, say, news comes out that Aurus is producing x thousand ounches of gold and 100,000 people place buy orders at the BID, you'll see great developments hurt the pps.

I think this is more of an issue with the MMs filling the orders at the BID in the first place, since you can't really expect all new buyers to set limit orders at or above the PPS currently. This is what is making me cautious about investing more funds until they change this practice.
