I get at least 6 years out of a mac, in some form or another. I get a new one and either my wife, or my daughter, or my father gets one that cycled through my home office -- I keep at least 2, usually 3 macs in the home office; e.g., a G4 dualie file server and a 20" G5 iMac for now, while the wife, kid and father are all using differing G4s -- but for what they do, that's still plenty...

But I'm getting ready to buy both a G5 dualie w/30" AAPL monitor (for current/future work in legacy ADBE software) and a Rev. B laptop (w/17" screen, if/when, they come out)...

So I'll have to draw a name out of a hat (or hold a "Who Loves Jim the Most" contest in the family) to see who gets the iMac...

But it's been awhile since I bought a new mac, let alone 2 in the same year. Good thing (more like luck), I sold most of my AAPL stock in Jan.

Sniff, sniff, sniff... starting to smell like a buying opp with the stock punished and folk like me starting to open our wallets for both current and next rev. hardware.

Shoot, even WLD bought an overpriced AAPL laptop, so that's gotta be a sign, right?
