Alaska grow bucket system, version one at condo. Basic instructions here: http://www.alaskagrowbuckets.com/alaska-grow-bucket-guide/

This is 2 weeks after setting up and planting.

First image is the 30 Gallon water reservoir (2 week supply). I used 1/2" low pressure tubing and 1/2" I.D. plastic fittings. 5/8" I.D. x .875" O.D. grommets that sealed the buckets with .812" holes carved with an exacto knife.

Bucket with float valve works by gravity to maintain 4 inches of water in all buckets. As the plants take water the float valve slowly drips water into the system.

Buckets contain a cheap plastic bowl in the bottom with holes drilled in them with one polyester woven grocery bag to contain the potting mix.

It is important that all buckets are on a level surface.

One week later, tomato is taking off !
