You may assume he said $.005, when in fact he said $.05, if it is necessary to confuse, cloud, or obfuscate a point to make a new unrelated point.

But he said $.05 and there is a slight difference to most people. It's likely he feels sorry for those who bought at $.05 but feels no pity for those buying at $.005.
