There will always be risks like Enron, Bre-X, and many others, but I think that the greatest danger to us retail investors or traders, is Market Manipulation by MM's, Brokers, Hedge Funds, so-called Financial Reporters, Pump & Dump Websites, CNBC, etc.

Look at what CEO's like Patrick Byrne of Overstock are saying and having to do, just to survive in this corrupt market we have currently. To paraphrase Patrick Byrne... "There are a couple hundred guys on Wall Street that are robbing the country blind"... or my personal favourite... "Someone's grandmother is eating dog food tonight, so that some ass on Wall Street can drive a new Porsche"!
