Cheniere Shareholders Vote for Proxy Access

13:03 EDT - Cheniere (LNG) shareholders back a non-binding proposal to allow certain large investors directly nominate board members. The resolution, known was proxy access, received a majority of votes cast, according to the New York City Comptroller's Office. "With today's vote, shareowners have demanded a meaningful voice in electing directors to a Cheniere board that is in desperate need of accountability," says Comptroller Scott Stringer . LNG, which is preparing to export the first major quantities of US natural gas by sea, has stirred criticism over executive-pay practices.
