Connection between Elite Pharma and Epic Pharma
I am not sure if this has all been discussed, but I was wondering what folks thought about the connection between Elite and Epic. Elite's Chief Scientific officer and a Director of Elite is Dr. Nigalaye. Since December 2010, Dr. Nigalaye has been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Epic Pharma, LLC, a manufacturer of generic pharmaceuticals and Elite’s strategic partner pursuant to the Epic Strategic Alliance Agreement. From July 2008 to December 2010, Dr. Nigalaye served as Epic Pharma’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
So these two are "partnering" together to move the pipeline forward. Why not a major player in the pharma industry? It seems almost like Elite is going it alone, although I understand Epic will market and distribute. What niche power does Epic have that makes them the right partner for us?
