I was looking at the SGI benchmarks you posted on the AMD thread and I was pretty amazed by some of those scores.

The SPECfp scores are simply out of this world and if your speculation about HP's SPECint scores proves out on Monday then that will be outstanding as well.

Unfortunately there were no 8-way Opteron scores or 4-way Madison scores but we can still draw some comparisons:


The SPECint_rate scores for an 8-way Madison were 2.13X a 4-way Opteron. 98.3 vrs 46.1

The SPECfp_rate scores for an 8-way Madison were 3.7X a 4-way Opteron. 164 vrs 44.2

When looking at the 32-way and above systems Madison shows amazing scalability.
