You have a good point, but somehow I am uncomfortable with the notion of a big pile of cash just sitting doing nothing in a retirement account while the dollar seems to want to fall more (and guys like Buffett and Soros are betting heavily that it does).

I don't mind a big pile of cash in an active/trading/taxable account though, so I am unable to explain why it bugs me in a retirement account.

I spent weeks, literally, figuring out how to dole it all out/allocate it and then actually placed 20 limit orders over the weekend -- had I known, I wouldn't have sweated so much on exact limits for each buy order since they all got filled way below my limits anyway, almost right after today's open.... only to see prices slide (in some cases) 5% lower still, for an overall 1.89% haircut on the day.

Sheesh... talk about the best laid plans and all...
