Just because someone is in the public eye doesn't mean they are guilty until they prove themselves innocent. Isn't it supposed to be innocent until proven guilty? The onus is on whoever makes baseless accusations to provide factual information to prove those accusations or they are liable for slander. Otherwise we could all run around destroying the reputations of good people to further our own personal agendas. Imagine what damage could be done to a stock by making baseless negative statements or providing misinformation. The people that usually do that are either holding a short position or a grudge.
