WHPo3: This is why communication seems to be so hard on IHUB. You said" It was not represented as an example of a "FPGA" (i.e. an example, but not their prototype). So anyone who wants to challenge that RIM purposes showed "their prototype" at that meeting needs to challenge the company's written statement, which remains forever in the internet archive.
Here is what they put in print.
The FPGA card that we showed at the shareholder's meeting was a working example of the actual FPGA board that we will ship to our customers, although the FPGA's that were on the board were not yet loaded with our models and algorithms
How can you say they didn't say it was an example. It also states that the models and algorithms were not yet loaded on it. Then in their plans for the year look what you posted that they said. # 2 shows that it is a software prototype that is nearing completion, not a hardware prototype that is already done. So what you gave us as evidence disputes your own argument.
Item Status
1. Develop the technology and simulate it in the lab Complete
2. Create a PC-based system which you take in the field and test on real lines Nearing Completion
3. Create a hardware prototype using FPGA Scheduled this year
4. Manufacture in the form of a finished chip (which may require additional engineering) Scheduled 2003
If people can't understand what they themselves are saying (posting) how in the world can we expect them to understand what the company says. Even when it is in print, they get it wrong.
