Yes they do and if you get an honorable discharge or are a decorated Vet, wounded in service ect... you are on an accelerated program to citizenship, a lot of them get it before their discharge papers are received.
But, honorable military service is not a guarantee to citizenship.
Of course if you are killed in the line of duty it's like automatic.
But these are signups and not mandatory enlisters.

I'm just looking at the cards on the table and if we get mass enrollment in citizenship from mexico, a required military deferment [draft] in some form will be sure to follow.
I can't see any other way for the military to escalate into another possible engagement without bumping up their enrollment numbers.
