It appears that Siemens was looking for supplier reliability. MCP was chosen because the China alternative was unreliable. Given MCP's financial status, a buyout may be more of a necessity for Siemens than a desire. Although, the bright side would be reduced per unit costs and greater control over quality and quantity of product. Will be interesting to see if a buyout happens.
