I'd love to believe that's true. I have a hard time though thinking a business development guy is going to say to his boss, "this company has a $150M market cap and cool but unproven technology; we need to offer $5B." Obviously it wouldn't sound like that but you get my point. The poison pill is helpful, but you could still buy 19.9% percent for $30M today (rough numbers~~warrants not really accounted for fully) and then pay $4.97B for the remaining 80.1%.? I just don't see that as a viable option for, really, any company.
I think that's where we could end up in a pickle; the company holds out for higher bids but in the meantime could run out of cash and end up selling the whole thing in bankruptcy for pennies on the dollar.
It's tricky and I have no idea what's going to happen.
