Interesting that adherence to the protocol was weak. It's not unusual for vanco to still be hanging prior to an emergency surgery. It's a pain. No problem getting the cephalosporin on board but vanco pre-op is more of a challenge. Have you seen a severe red man syndrome? I once saw Vanco given relatively quickly post induction, severe red man on emergence an hour or so later. Really scary. I'd be curious about more rapid administration of Brilacidin in an operative setting (post induction/ pre-incision) similar to how most cephalosporins are administered.
