I know Canada is a small potatoes market in the big picture, but this is a local story that ran recently. Alberta officially banned all flavoured tobacco products including menthol. Considering that a significant number of youth smokers start with these, as they are easier to stomach than full strength tobacco, this could be good news for an increase in ecig & vaping purchases.

Of course from a moral standpoint I would much rather see ecigs & vapes restricted as a method to quit the smoking habit only, but in the end sales are sales and kids are going to do whatever they think looks cool.

Also, on the Chinese public smoking ban standpoint, anything is possible, but I find it improbable that ecigs and vapes would be outright banned at the same time. More and more research is proving ecigs to be an effective and much healthier way to quit the tobacco habit, and the public ban could result in a lot of Chinese folks jonesing for something that could legally be used in public. Just the fact that their media will likely be raising more awareness of the chemicals in traditional tobacco might even inadvertently create a larger market for healthier alternatives (ecigs & vaping).
