As someone pointed out , I too think this New Class of QD from QMC could be "Thick Shell Quantum Dot". Optimized might mean cadmium free now. The only question remaining is contracts/JV anyways hopefully eveything would reveal itself on Monday. Looking forward....

Quantum Materials to Announce New Class of High-Reliability Quantum Dots at SID Display Week 2015

We have optimized a new class of rugged and highly-reliable quantum dots with robust resistance to heat, oxidation and moisture,” said Quantum Materials Corp CEO Stephen Squires. “We expect that the environmental resistance of these custom quantum dots will reduce the need for high component cost protective barrier films in display manufacturing and accelerate solid state lighting development due to their high heat and oxidation stability. We will be releasing additional detail during Display Week and look forward to briefing customers and media there.

From QMC website on Thick Shell Quantum Dots:

Quantum Materials Thick Shell Quantum Dots are better suited to work in solid state lighting than other quantum dots. Thick Shelling increases lifetime by their photostability, meaning they don’t experience the “droop” of other quantum dots. They are non-blinking (always on) and so are not subject to “blinking off” when they reach flex density. Their wider Stokes shift and narrow FWHM contribute to color purity thereby having the potential for better white light emission in conjunction with other color QD. Quantum Materials has a marked advantage as a supplier of tetrapod thick shell quantum dots to the lighting industry.

There are a number of different potential uses and applications. Quantum dots can be applied to a film and activated by a blue LED (photoluminescence). Quantum dots can be part of the LED device itself and be electrically stimulated to produce light (electroluminescence).
