I was older, left the 82nd in 1955. I jumped T7 chutes my first two jumps in jump school at Benning, then was delighted to move to T10's for the next three jumps. T7's were 'flat' and the opening shock was incredible, like running down a long hallway with your arms behind you and hitting that wall full speed. T10's were reasonably gentle, made it fun. Proud to have served in the 82nd.
