I recently saw this Sony 3D display in the wild:

The 3D glasses are the passive type (like you wear at the movies) and aren't obtrusive when looking away from the display. You can look down at the patient and then back at the screen without having to remove the glasses. Also worth mentioning is that the depth created by the 3D effect is quite evident from far away and off axis, so your OR staff can see everything you're seeing.

This will be an excellent benefit of the system...anyone can look over your shoulder for training purposes and see everything in full 3D. The current robotic systems require another surgeon console or an auxiliary 3D display...
