Bungie, Inc. has filed multiple inter partes review (IPR) petitions with the US Patent and Trademark Office challenging WDDD's patents.

Additional IPRs have been filed for other patents. These IPRs may raise some serious concerns due to the potential costly and timely nature of the actions. IPRs can be expensive to defend. And IPRs can severely delay any lawsuit should parties request and be granted a stay of litigation.
