"shorts" are what penny stock investors use as a scapegoat to explain poor stock performance after a huge temporary surge in stock price. Shorters are much less responsible for the drop in pps over the last few weeks than actual sellers, or "quick flippers" that look for a quick buck during a big spike IMO
