the fare wars don't work for anyone, never that many cheap seats, and the high price of the last few seats more than makes up for it, the HUGE savings in fuel, will more than make up for just about anything, with lots left over. capacity needs to be controlled, of course. but many have already delayed receipt of new aircraft. everything is still working in our direction, economy improving, jobs up, new routes, signed contracts, synergies starting to happen, more codeshares, and on and on. and did i mention FUEL prices? just between "us" hahahaha i think a lot of this "fare-war" is to appease customers expectations that, fuel is down so much, then fares should come down too. its marketing, its advertising. the non-flight related fees, the new ala carte system i.e. luggage fees ect. cannot be over estimated. the airlines are killing it with these new fees, that are just now beginning to be figured in to the formula, as a very profitable source of revenue. when the stock was at 54.00 and dipped to 48, i bought in like crazy (i thought it was a bargain, and still do) course would loved to have sold everything and re bought everything at 42,) but it is what it is, and i haven't found anything with a better upside. i am not changing my sells, taking a little profit at 55 and the rest at 61. its very doable, we should already be there, but alas, it just may take a little longer, but i have no doubt we will get there. GLTA. this company is very shareholder focused. and we have more employees being trained every week, coming in, with starting wages that are a third of the cost of the ones retiring. all that being said, AAL needs to fast track the buy back. if this isn't the bottom, (and i think it is) we are really close. what a difference a week will make.
