Aren’t autonomous driving and autopilot an example of closed loop systems? Each seems to be, at least in part, an example of set it and forget it software. Aircraft sense the bubble they are in and adjust. Adjustments are made to avoid other objects as well as the ground without the intervention of humans. Sensors detect and communicate the adjustments necessary in process. I understand that the decision time will be smaller and faster but isn’t there a holy grail out there already? What makes these processes so different?

Sorry for the ignorant ramble. I was having beers at my favorite brewery and just happened to be standing next to a couple of engineers talking about the new drones that they were buying. The ability of the drones to follow them around without external direction was part of the attraction. Is this not an example of IPQA?

Thanks
