If enough investors fall for MM games or go fishing for shares then the price will never go up. It doesnt matter who 'causes' a rise or fall in a stock price, what you really need to understand is that the share price goes up when the majority of investors are buying (preferably at any cost) or fishing high, and it goes down when the majority are selling (at any cost) or fishing low. Other investors can see your bid and some make assumptions that since there are many orders bid at or under a certain price then why should they go higher?

Youre not far off in saying 'go put an ask in at .01 because if enough investors do that then the rest of the market will notice the potential swing and they may follow.

Its all about ebb and flow and momentum and sentiment. Many will tell you to keep your emotions out of investing but really it's emotions that make em move! If you can keep your head while all others around you are losing theirs...

This explanation could go on forever.
