We know that the company is new and centered around Xu Ping after he left Haier last year.
Business in China does not work the way it does in this country - it is government mandated and China needs robots. It is my suspicion that Haier lost the government mandate for robotics and Xu Ping has been reassigned.
Qingdao Haier was the official name of Haier because it was tied to the local government. The same applies to Qingdao Yuanqi Intelligent Robotics Co., Ltd. I very much doubt that Xu Ping left Haier without direction from the Chinese government.
