Uh ok, I have no idea who Xuhua Zhou is. I hope this is not one of these you have a similar sounding asian name things...

A web server is THE standard server application. You realize that applications are referring to application servers, which are specialized instances of web servers geared to support 1 single application. My simple point is that if hypervisors could support 2000 web servers back then on a single laptop, you shouldn't be wow'ed by 1000 applications on a Dell server in 2015, which is probably about 100x the power of a laptop circa 2003. It's possible it does mean something, but my point is that it is easy to make versions of this kind of metric work in your favor.

I've heard various versions of the Dell/KenHess story, many of them unflattering to $ANY. I'm going to reserve my judgment and avoid he-said/she-said arguments.

In general, I find the polar opposite and extreme views here fairly unhealthy. If you're a smart $ANY long, then you should *want* to hear about the other side, so that you can make sure you're doing the right thing and firm up your opinion. Similarly for the shorts, there should be an open mind towards the longs.

The fact that it's basically a warzone in here means that there's very little room for honest communication between the two camps. In fact, I had to basically proclaim myself ignorant just to get out of the crossfire. Why isn't there more open exchanges on both sides?

If I'm a new investor (and I'm not), and I come into this board, there's no useful information to take away. It's mostly both sides touting their own "research" and different versions of "you must believe us."
