In response to your question concerning CDEx technology, I'm happy to be able to answer your question promptly Viking:

"Wouldn't "HOW MUCH" material is present be a little bit like wavelengths and and optical signatures used correlating to IV drug CONCENTRATIONS?"

No, the "how much" or concentration of a material present is directly proportional to the intensity of the return signal (light) at a given wavelength (Beer-Lambert Law- first order approximation).

As for the second part of your question, I have no idea what you're even trying to ask, but the optical signature consists of a unique pattern of absorptiom peaks at various wavelengths.

Intensity -> concentration

Absorption peak pattern -> signature

I believe the reason why CDEx can't get the G4 to measure drug concentration accurately is because they're trying to eliminate the hassel of using a cuvette and they can't get it to work without one. There is too much variation in the wall thickness of the vials, IV bags, syringes... etc. to get an accurate concentration reading.

I hope that answwered your question.
