I appeared in the Superior Court of Quebec yesterday to listen to the arguments regarding the latest with our CFO.
This is a case brought by the Bar against him for misappropriating over $1 million from 2 people including a former President of GCEI. The witnesses live in the UK and cannot travel due to medical reasons and the Disciplinary Council ruled that they did not have the jurisdiction to order video-conference testimony. The Bar thought otherwise and asked the Court to determine if they had jurisdiction.
A decision is forthcoming but I believe that the Court will confirm that the Disciplinary Council had jurisdiction to order video-conferencing for witness testimony and they will send the case back to the Council to establish how it will be done.
Then Adessky won't get off on a technicality and will have to stand trial. I think he's in for another $100k in legal fees if this goes forward, not including the fees, for the appeal of his disbarment.
In that case, the final factums are due next week and then a date will be set to determine his fate on the disbarment of 4 years.
Maybe crime doesn't pay!!!!
That's our CFO!
