I don't live on the boat anymore. We had to move off the boat when our daughter was born. We live in our home upriver but still overlook the river.
Living on the boat was great. It had power and we would often "anchor out".From the water, we always had a great view of the Washington Monument fireworks display on the 4th of July. Some of friends kept dogs on board. They seemed well adjusted. We had an interesting group of neighbors who lived aboard. Congressmen, CIA and other Washington "power type" people. I always enjoyed it when Malcolm Forbe's crew would bring his yacht the "Highlander" in and tie up at the end of my dock. They would stay for a few weeks and just hang out....Malcolm would entertain for a night or two and would then leave town. After Malcolm left, his crew would invite a few of us on board for cocktails. It was a fascinating yacht. My wife had never been on a boat before she met me but now, 30 years later she thinks we should get another one.smile
