Heard from an experienced reporter in London re: Obo-1 that Chevron deliberately drilled off structure to see the extent of the field.

Supports S. Freed and others who have posted that Obo-1 does have a lot of oil and Chevron's official announcement does not tell the entire story.


My added guess is that Chevron and Exxon have a lot of other projects that they are actively doing E and P on and are in no hurry to activate the Block 1 oil fields. As others have posted.
