To my surprise, any day, but one outlier, where the Regular Volume to short ratio was higher than 4.292 (aka 4 times the amount of regular than short) we accounted for a drop in stock value from the previous day.

When the regular volume to short ratio is between 2 and 2.99 , it resulted in a raise in stock closing price compared to the previous day (one outlier).


43% of the days with a 3-4 reg:short ratio resulted in a higher closing price relative to previous day.


Only 1 of the 7 days where the regular volume was 4x or more than short volume did the close result in a higher price than the previous day.

5 of 8 days with reg:short ratio between 2 and 3 resulted in at least a 1 cent gain.


when Reg/short is greater than 3, the average net change on the stock is -0.003 cents closing price relative to previous day.
