Hawaii?? Are they just trying to avoid shareholders?

I don't know what the choice of venue means, but it doesn't look good to me. Why not just hold it in Santa Barbara as usual, apologise that there is simply no news yet, and bear the anger of shareholders for the time being? Isn't that better than wasting shareholder money on plane tickets, and engage in such a transparent attempt to avoid shareholder scrutiny? It just seems really odd. Is there any other explanation - that makes this move look a bit more legitimate - that someone else can think of?
