I didn't state or infer it is "bogus". I just take issue with people stating wild (and 99.99999% unlikely IMHO) assertions as facts.

Sometimes things are exactly as they appear, IMHO the following is likely:

1) ANY relies heavily on Windows Server
2) To use Glassware in a cloud context, Windows Azure is pretty much the only choice as it offers Windows Server in the cloud
3) ANY is going through the normal "partner" channel and is viewed as effectively an Azure customer/partner by Microsoft

My views on 3) above are confirmed by the fact that it was an Azure marketing guy who gave the puff quote in the PR, and also that the public info released so far fit this App Launch program to a T:

including "co-branded events", hosting events at Microsoft Technology Centers, and "press release support"

4) ANY has successfully virtualized at least one legacy app: TestNav 7.5 in the education vertical, therefore it makes sense to "initially" start there. My guess is they are humping around the U.S. looking for other TestNav 7.5 and trying to offer a hosted solution. Nothing wrong with that.


Of course with "stealth mode" (LOL) we can only infer, but to me the above situation seems to fit the facts rather well, especially when compared with pie-in-the-sky assertions that Microsoft bet their own company on Glassware but nobody knows about it.
