This company should bleed to death in months at the rate of spending to get just a few cash burning stores off the ground. Years have gone by and really, we're still at square one. Baristas has about the same number of stores as we had in the first year. Yet with all the millions spent, and random un-market-tested stuff thrown at the wall that didn't stick, it's still afloat and looking relatively shiny. Since 3 years a small business I built from the ground up is making nice 6-digit profits this year with no debt. It is hard for me to wrap my head around these cash burning businesses but somehow it just keeps floating with half of its hull underwater.
