I was born in Ballymena, Ireland. I was christened Irenee. When we emigrated to Canada (at age 7 for me) too many people mispronounced my name so my parents decided to drop the 'I'. We were already experiencing enough difficulties adjusting to a new culture, new idioms, and speaking slower so that others could understand us. To this day I still have a slight accent.
My brothers call me Runt, but everyone else should duck,
