The Law is the standard God will use to judge those who, becoming aware of their sin, did not repent and turn away from it.

At what point do people become aware of their sin?

I think we have already had a discussion about the age of accountability.

It is not a matter of whether or not people are consciously aware of their sin:

Romans 2:15- Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

The law is wriiten on man's heart, on what we would now call or consider our conscience.

Those who do not have the Law will perish anyway:

Romans 2:12- For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

People do not need the written Law to know they have sinned. It in engraved on their hearts, and it by that they will be judged.
