Mas, taking Hans' words at face value, one would have to conclude that Intel is making better decisions than the rest of the industry, as far as defining the specifications of their process goes. If being less aggressive in M1 scaling can still turn out a competitive process a year earlier than competitors, then everyone should be doing that. Why aren't they? Maybe one reason is that Intel knows the secret sauce required to create a competitive 65nm process with less aggressive M1 scaling, and nobody else does.
