I wonder what will be next?

Once we had an "energy crisis" brains got put to work in many different areas.
Changes down the road will be enormous. And many of them will be to our benefit.
Refrigerators now consume 50-60W.
Lights are putting out MUCH more light at lower power. EX my 240W light fixture now uses 24W and BRIGHTER LIGHT! (4 CREE 40W Equivalent 5,000K bulbs each consuming 6W)
Solar will be MUCH cheaper and easier to install.
Solar is already getting cheaper than fossil fuels.
My last power bill was just less than .19 per KWH.
Solar will bring that down to 5 or 6C or cheaper. I don't want to pay 5 or 6C only when the sun is up, so that is why we are going for power storage. I also want power if the wires come down. Hard to get gas for the generator if the gas station has no power.
Dark and rainy today, I need my lights on even if solar panels are out on a dark day....
MANY Changes down the road.
OH BTW, my induction cooktop uses 1875W on a 120V plug in. My Kill a watt meter said it used 0.220KWH to boil 3QT of water from cold to boiling...
