I suspect the Shreya India project has been shuttered because it simply isn't feasible. The Precosulin in India is based on the old formulation, which, as I understand it, is basically one unit of regular insulin per spray. A typical insulin-dependent diabetic would require dozens of sprays each day, and regular insulin makes a poor prandial insulin. The reformulation project is definitely attempting to concentrate it down to 4-5 units/spray, and I suspect will use a more rapid-acting insulin, such as lispro.

One unit of regular insulin per spray is a non-starter. Alfrezza uses 4 or 8. So I think you are correct in that India is waiting, but I don't think they're waiting for the FDA. I think they're waiting for the reformulation project.
