Acquisitions are quicker and sometimes cheaper than going through the trial and error of R&D. Easier to buy something proven to work than starting from scratch if you're in a hurry to beat other competition to the market with a product.

Much like JN buying SUNworks instead of just partnering, smart move at great price on an installer that is generating 33% customer referrals now if I remember that number correctly.

Lots of companies out there in the solar game trying to make the most efficient PV's and get them to market. Think we'll see 20% broken by end of the year by someone. 3D was at 25% last prototype update.
