You are correct. Problem with bigger deals is that once the c-level decision makers decide on the deal, it then goes to the legal team. This is what takes so long folks. Redline contract negotiation between two different legal teams is brutal. Remember both the sides have to agree to all the legal language which ranges from who is liable to who pays what, how, when, terms of payment, indemnity, all exhibits and on, and on, and on, (yes a shitload if stuff). Only when all changes are agreed upon can the contract be executed..
