[Reuters - UK Focus] - Ireland (Other OTC: IRLD - news) has no plans to sell any more shares in permanent tsb (PTSB) before next year's election and will be in a position to commence a potential sale of Allied Irish Banks (AIB) shares in November at the earliest. The government cut its stake in PTSB to 75 percent in a top-of-the-range public share sale on Monday, prompting some analysts to say it should capitalise on the investor appetite by kicking off a sale of the country's No. 2 lender, AIB. "It would take at least until November for a sale and that might not even be possible, it's not a free choice of when we do it," Finance Minister Michael Noonan told a news conference, referring to a possible part sale of its 99 percent shareholding in AIB.

[Reuters - UK Focus] - Ireland (Other OTC: IRLD - news) nudged up its growth forecasts for 2015 and 2016 on Tuesday, setting it up to remain the fastest-growing economy in the EU and prompting the government to promise five years of tax cuts and spending if re-elected. Rebounding from a debt crisis that forced it into an EU/IMF bailout in 2010, Ireland's economy grew 4.8 percent last year, its strongest performance since 2007. Finance minister Michael Noonan said he would have up to 1.5 billion euros extra in his next and in each budget that follows to cut income tax rates and spend more in areas such as health and education if the governing coalition is re-elected in 2016.

[Reuters - UK Focus] - Coriolis Energy and Ireland (Other OTC: IRLD - news) 's Electricity Supply Board (ESB) have agreed to jointly develop nine onshore wind farms across Britain capable of generating enough electricity to power 225,000 homes, they said on Tuesday. The majority of the wind farms will be in built in Scotland but opportunities for new wind farm developments would be pursued throughout the United Kingdom, they said. Liam Murphy, project manager of the partnership, said the majority of funding for the projects would come from ESB.

[Reuters - UK Focus] - Ireland (Other OTC: IRLD - news) can implement expansionary budgets for the next five years with up to 1.5 billion euros extra available each year to divide between tax cuts and additional spending, Finance Minister Michael Noonan said on Tuesday. "The government will be in a position to introduce our second expansionary budget in October," Noonan said after nudging up growth forecasts for 2015 and 2016, setting Ireland up to remain the fastest-growing economy in the European Union.
