Addicts must be awful blind, deaf or both if they don't know that abuse of drugs kills. Maybe non opioid drugs is the unseen hand that keeps numbers in check.

Another way of looking at it is what is the difference if an addict dies from abusing an opioid or heroine or any other substance. As for firearms the firearm shows are the "gas stations" you talk about and like in guns no one is deterred from buying one because they are not 18.

I honestly believe that excepting a very small minority most addicts became addicts of their own free will through experimentation or just for the quick high and very little because of actual pay. Of course as we all know opioids were meant to be injected and not only that needles must be shared.

A lot is made about no one forces anyone to buy shares of any stock and that is also truth but explanations of opioid abuse offers the perfect storm of hype of Elite and its apparent anointed position in that technology fails to move the shares out of the .24 ranges all the while pronouncement of it will never get below .60, below .34, below .265, or other possibilities in between.

People die from many causes including use of automobiles, motor cycles, house fires, and even riding houses, so I don't expect deaths through abuse will stop or reduce deaths from substance abuse. Alcohol addicts are still dying from alcohol or even food abuse.
