The 2013 Congress saw very similar industrial hemp bills introduced in both houses of Congress.
Both died in committee.
The House version, HR 525 (same number as current bill,) had 50 cosponsors (five less than the current bill) and it died in the House Judiciary Committee.
The Senate bill, S.359 had five cosponsors v. six now. It died in the Senate Judiciary committee.
There is no chance that the current bills will pass in time to allow planting in the 2015 growing season. There will be no large 2015 hemp crop, and the smaller test crops in the various states will be allocated to testing purposes.
