I mailed Gregg last night and ask him about TrakDot and this was his response and I quote : Please keep in mind that every cellular device on the planet can be located using Cell-ID (cellular triangulation). The TrakDot device is no different .It uses a Cinterion cellular module.(http://m2m.gemalto.com/products/industrial/lga/bgs2.html) which is used in cell phones. It is basically a cellphone without a display, speaker and microphone. Geotraq is not building cellular devices using off the shelf cellular modules. We are building a unique and proprietary module that has no voice or data circuitry and is half the size of the Cinterion module. This will allow companies to create tracking devices the size of a matchbox that can operate for years.Anyone can purchase the components required to build a device like the TrakDot. There is absolutely nothing special about TrakDot. Read some of the reviews online and you will see that the batteries dont last longer than 24 hours. No different than a cell phone. No reason to sue companies that build cell phones without speakers and microphones. They are not infringing on our intellectual property.
BTW- Check out LugLoc (www.lugloc.com)
Hope this help for some that have any doubts about what GTRQ is and the technology that they have. Also feel free to email Gregg yourself. He is very honest and will share information about the company for those willing to take the time to ask. By the way I am on Eastern Standard time and I emailed him around 9pm last night. He responded to my email at 330 am which would be after midnight last night on Pacific time.Gregg works long hour days 7 days a week and does'nt sleep much I am sure.
